If you guys are anything like me, then the cocktails have been in heavy rotation lately. 🙊 I’ve been having a glass of wine most nights – but nothing to the level of crazy, don’t worry! On most nights, I have a glass of cabernet or pinot noir, but it’s also been fun to make cocktails. Both cooking and making cocktails have been my escape lately. Anyone else? After sitting at my computer and being on calls all day, it’s been fun to put music on the Sonos, chill, and make something!
We live within walking distance of so many great restaurants; one of them being Barcelona Wine Bar! I’m missing all of my Boston restaurants so badly right now, and this is one of them. Right about now is when Boston starts to thaw and come alive. You see more people outside, the restaurants start putting out their patio furniture, and the days start to feel longer (except they’re feeling a little too long these days 😂).
Guns & Rosés Cocktail
Barcelona Wine Bar is a wine and Spanish style tapas restaurant that to the surprise of most people, is a small chain. I think most of us have an idea of what most chain restaurants are like, and this one definitely doesn’t have that feel. They have locations throughout Boston, Connecticut, Washington, DC, and other locations as well.
Anyways, they have some of the BEST cocktails – and a darn good patio and tapas! But since we’re stuck quarantining I obviously can’t go order their cocktails right now, so I’ve resorted to trying to make my own. One of my favorite cocktails is their Guns & Rosés. Their menu lists all the ingredients to the drink, but obviously not the portions, so I did my best guess. I have to say, I think it turned out pretty darn close.
Guns & Rosés Cocktail
2 oz. Vodka (I used Tito’s)
2 oz. Sparkling Rosé
2 oz. Rosé
2 oz. Peach Puree (I used this Bellini mixer that I already had on hand)
1 oz. Lemon Juice
4-5 drops of Grapefruit Bitters (I used this that I bought on Amazon a while back but if you don’t have this, I would think that a squeeze of grapefruit juice would work pefectly!)
Add desired amount of crushed ice to a wine glass (I love these wine glasses and they’re super affordable) and set aside. Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Add Vodka, 2 oz. Rosé, peach puree, lemon juice, and grapefruit bitters to cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into wine glass. Now add 2 oz. of sparkling rosé and add any desired garnishes. I like to add a lemon or grapefruit slice or a lemon peel. This recipe makes one cocktail. Double it to make two. Enjoy!
Thank you to 90+ Cellars for graciously gifting me their rosé! Did you try making this cocktail? Let me know in the comments or tag me on Instagram stories! Interested in making other cocktails? You can find more posts here.
