Have you guys heard all the buzz about Rent the Runway Unlimited? They reached out to me a couple months ago and invited me to try out Rent the Runway Unlimited. I feel like it’s been getting a lot of press lately and for good reason. Overall – I’ve been loving it! Keep reading to find a quick cheat sheet for Rent the Runway Unlimited and my coupon code for $200 off!
If you guys have ever rented a dress for a wedding through Rent the Runway (or any item, but I feel like that was always the most frequent use of it) then you have a pretty good idea of what it’s all about. Rent the Runway Unlimited is quite similar but with added benefits! Essentially you have the ability to rent a clothing or accessory item to your door for a certain period of time.
Rent the Runway was usually just for a few days for use for an event, while Rent the Runway Unlimited allows you to rent up to 4 items per month (although you do have the ability to pay more if you want to receive 5 items per month) with UNLIMITED swaps. So if you don’t like something you ordered or only wanted it for a specific event, you can immediately send it back and can pick out a new item. It’s honestly pretty great
Rent the Runway Unlimited Cheat Sheet:
- 4 items per month of your choice delivered directly to your door and neatly packed in garment bags
- $159/month (use my code RTRMACKENZIEM for $200 off your first 2 months – a savings of $100 off/month). This coupon code is good till 1/31 so if you’ve been thinking about signing up, sign up now!
- Unlimited swaps of these items – don’t like an item you ordered? No problem – send it back and pick a new item! They pack prepaid shipping labels in each order so you can easily send back what you don’t like!
- You can pause months and then continue in the next month
- Ability to cancel at any time!
- Pay extra to add items per month (example: if you want to rent 5 items per month instead of 4)
- Access to thousands of items (coats, dresses, sweaters, accessories) – you name it and Rent the Runway Unlimited probably has it!
Overall, what I love about Rent the Runway Unlimited is that I have the ability to elevate my wardrobe and try out items I would never be able to afford otherwise. As a blogger, I often go to events and feel the pressure to be wearing something new – but who wants to keep spending money on something you’ll wear once? Besides, who has the time to go out shopping all the time? Most frequently, I’m an online shopper because it saves me time. These are a couple of the huge benefits of Rent the Runway Unlimited.
In my first month of Rent the Runway Unlimited I rented the following:
- Badgley Mischka Black Knit Sleeve Coat (retails for $595)
I tried this coat in a medium which was definitely the correct size. I ended up returning this coat because I didn’t love the sweater-like arms of the coat. I thought it cheapened the coat a little and looked like it was for someone older. But again, you can switch out your RTR Unlimited items, so I was able to send it back and swap this for a different item! - Milly Cady Brooke Jumpsuit (retails for $475)
I originally picked this jumpsuit for New Year’s Eve but we actually ended up staying in so I didn’t get a chance to wear it out (but I did shoot photos in it here). I really loved this jumpsuit and thought it was so flattering! The leg is long and a wide leg which I personally find much more flattering than a jumpsuit that has a skinny pant that hits at the ankle. There are three lengths available so just keep in mind if you order. In my experience, the pants are still quite long so make sure you have a high heel that you can wear with this! - Noize Beige Estelle Faux Fur Coat (retails for $267)
This was my favorite item I ordered and based on my messages from you guys on Instagram, this was your favorite too! It’s definitely oversized. I’m typically between a small & medium depending on the item and I ordered a small. Definitely size down if you’re similar to me and often fit into two different sizes. Super cute way to elevate a winter outfit and immediately makes you look glam. I think this coat looks best paired with black which is how I wore it most of the time! Also – when I was in NYC at the beginning of January, I saw a girl wearing this same coat and it confirmed to me that it’s a stunner! - Sanctuary Black Essential Turtleneck Dress (retails for $99)
I really liked this dress and I wore it to my 30th birthday dinner with these black booties to Primo. Great fit and would work in many different situations where you want to look polished but not overly done up. Super comfortable! It reminded me of something Kim Kardashian would wear. lol but you have to admit – she has great style!
How I Have Used/Plan to Use Rent the Runway Unlimited:
- Picked out items for around my birthday/Christmastime/New Year’s since I wanted my outfits to look more elevated – but I didn’t have the time/extra money to be out purchasing items.
- Anytime I have dressier blogging events/work events I plan to lean on Rent the Runway Unlimited so I don’t have to purchase a new item.
- Going skiing in a couple weeks and I don’t have snow pants that fit me anymore! I’ll be picking out something from Rent the Runway Unlimited (here’s what I’m liking so far)
- Vacations – I have an upcoming vacation in March and want to bring a couple dresses/straw bags but don’t want to waste my money buying something I’ll wear once.
- Weddings – I have a few weddings this spring/summer and plan to use Rent the Runway Unlimited.
Pain Points:
You guys know I’m always 100% honest with you so I wanted to share one pain point I’ve had during my time using Rent the Runway Unlimited. For some reason, there’s some type of glitch on the website that even when you check “my size,” the items that show up may be sold out in your size. This was frustrating at times when you would pick out item after item and then find it’s sold out in your size. I have flagged this to the Rent the Runway Unlimited support team, so hopefully this will be something that’s fixed in the coming weeks.
Overall, I’m loving it and am finding it a great way to try new designers and also a way to majorly save on a wardrobe. Don’t forget to use my code RTRMACKENZIEM for $200 off your first two months of Rent the Runway Unlimited!
For full disclosure, I was given a complimentary one month trial of Rent the Runway Unlimited.
