Guys! Boston is finally giving us some teases of spring weather and I’m SO here for it. 😜 I feel like my entire mood changes for the better. Anyone else?! It was so nice not having to put on a coat over the weekend and just being able to walk around in a t-shirt or light sweater. I’m sure some of you would think 60-65 degrees is still cold, but most of us here in Boston are soaking up every single minute! ☀️
This bit of nice weather we had over the weekend had me thinking about all of the things I’m excited for this spring! I wanted to share with you guys as well. We’re back to a bit of cold weather for a few days, so it’s fun to think about what’s to come. The little things in life, right?! I’d LOVE to hear what you guys are most excited for about spring in your city in the comments section! 💗
Floral Wrap Skirt & 5 Things I’m Excited For This Spring
1. Patio Season
This HAD to be #1 because it’s one of my favorite things about Boston. I swear the city comes alive once it’s patio season again. There’s really nothing better than meeting up with your friends sans coats and jackets and enjoying a couple drinks over the weekend! Here’s a few of my favorite patios in Boston: Barcelona Wine Bar, The Beehive, Tatte (for brunch), and here’s a couple patios that are on my bucket list for this summer: Audubon, B&G Oysters, City Tap House, Coppersmith, Deep Ellum, Earl’s, and Reelhouse. If you guys are making a trip to Boston this spring or summer, you can check out my Boston travel guides here and here!
2. Spring Fashion
Enough said. There’s no better feeling than lightening up your layers and picking out some new pieces for spring. Right now I’m really loving wide leg cropped jeans (have had my eye on this pair), wrap skirts, sandals with a pop of color (also love these) and lots of white (love this blazer). Anything you guys are loving lately?
This year has finally made me feel more financially stable than I have in the past so lately I’ve been focusing on growing my wardrobe with high quality pieces that will last me for years to come. I’m trying to spend less money on fast fashion pieces because let’s be honest, the quality isn’t always there, but I do still try to limit how much I’m spending on ultra trendy pieces.
3. New England Day Trips
There are SO many amazing day trips and long weekends to be had from Boston and I feel like spring is what fully kicks off the season of it. One of my favorite things about living in Boston is that it’s easy to travel just about anywhere. We have a great airport and there’s so many awesome towns to visit in spring/summer that are all just a couple hour’s driving distance from Boston. Here are a few trips from Boston that are on my bucket list for the summer: Martha’s Vineyard, MA, Nantucket, MA, Newport, RI, Provincetown, MA, and Portsmouth, NH. I also have a post here that highlights a few day trips/weekend getaways from Boston!
4. The Start of Concert Season
Anyone have any fun concerts planned? I don’t have a SINGLE concert planned (as of yet) but I have plans lol! I usually go to Kenny Chesney at the end of every summer, but since he isn’t coming this year, my plans feel all out of sorts! I’m hoping to go to Zac Brown Band at Fenway and Boston Calling (maybe!! you can read a past post on Boston Calling here) but haven’t bought tickets yet. Are you guys going to any concerts?!
5. Grilling & Lighter Eating
We cranked up the grill a couple weeks ago and have been loving having lighter options – plus there’s virtually no clean up. I made this Greek chicken marinade the other day and only marinated the chicken for about an hour (probably less, honestly) and it was so good! We love pairing it with zucchini and summer squash rounds, broccoli, corn on the cob, or whatever we have on hand. It’s so nice to not have to spend all night doing dishes after! I love cooking and actually have a breakfast recipe coming at you guys soon, so let me know if you’d be interested in other recipes!
