Today on the blog, my St. John, USVI Vacation Outfits Recap! I’m sharing everything I wore on vacation on the island of St. John, USVI.
Swimsuit (also top available here & bottoms here if it sells out) || Skirt (dress version here) ||
Whewwww it’s been awhile guys! 😳 I actually just got back from a trip to St. John (you can read past posts here, here, and here until I get this year’s travel guide up) with my entire family. We went for a full 9 days so the trip actually felt pretty long. Sometimes I feel like vacations go by in the blink of an eye, so it was nice that it felt long for a change.
Now I’m trying to get used to *real life* and have been back to work since last week. Anyone else feel like the first week back to work after a vacation is the biggest struggle in the entire world?! And that a vacation doesn’t cure your wanderlust, it just makes you want to travel more than ever?! 😜 But seriously, I can’t complain. It was the best vacation with amazing weather and I got to spend almost 10 days with my entire family and Geoff came too.
I get more vacation days this year than last year so G and I are trying to plan another trip for maybe the start of summer. If you have recs, please leave them in the comments! 💗 Our two latest vacations have both been with family which we LOVE. It’s so fun getting to spend time with our families since we don’t see them as much as we’d like, but we’re really wanting to plan a trip for just the two of us.
Overall, my vacation outfits were super casual this year! I actually wished I had packed more simple tank tops/t-shirts because I wore this tank top constantly.
Swimsuit (fits TTS; wearing normal size US 6)
Linen Pants (mine are from last year but linked the same ones they’re carrying this year that look identical)
I received a bunch of outfit questions in my Instagram DMs from you guys while I was gone so I wanted to give you a true round up of everything I brought. I bought a LOT of things from this website which I’ve been obsessed with for a couple years now. I also bought a couple things from here. Can be expensive, but if you’re willing to hunt through the sale section, you can actually find some great items for a great price. Both of these retailers have amazing shipping which is a plus because I’m always such a last minute shopper for trips. ASOS also has great shipping – I believe it’s 2 day if you spend over $100. I didn’t find anything there this year, but always a solid option if you’re in a pinch!
St. John, USVI Vacation Outfits Recap
As a whole, I thought I packed pretty smart this year and didn’t pack too much that was unnecessary. This was my 5th visit to St. John so I feel that I finally understand the types of items I’ll wear and the things that I won’t.
St. John is VERY casual, so I always keep that in mind when packing. I didn’t pack any heels – not even wedges. Yes, I kinda feel like even wedges are a little fancy for St. John. Since it’s an island, dress is very casual. You’ll mostly see people wearing t-shirts, shorts, and casual dresses. The people that are dressed up are usually tourists haha. Which I feel like is always how vacation is!
Swimsuit (fits TTS; wearing my normal size US 6)
What did I wear the most? These shorts (definitely a splurge for me but they’re amazing and will last me for years), this top I wore constantly which my family made fun of me for lol, this sarong/skirt (also available in a dress version here) which was perfect for dinner AND throwing on over a bathing suit before/after the beach (love items that do double duty), and this dress were what I wore most.
Tank Top || Necklace 1 || Necklace 2 (old so I linked similar) ||
Shorts (recommend sizing down one size) || Sandals (on sale!) ||
Alright, so back to these shorts! These were a splurge for me because I can’t think of a single time ever that I’ve spent over $50 on a pair of shorts. I went back and forth a million times trying to talk myself out of these shorts. The verdict is after spending all vacation in them is that they are 100% worth it. I actually can’t think of a single pair of shorts I’ve actually liked (ever in my life) other than these ones. This brand has great quality denim and these will last me for years. I love that they don’t ride up and that they’re a bit longer than other pairs of shorts. I recommend SIZING DOWN one size! I originally ordered these in my regular size (28) and I sent back for the 27 which fit perfectly. Just a heads up that these shorts do have four or five buttons in the front, rather than one button and a zipper. I actually think it makes them fit better though so to me it’s not a con, just thought I would mention! I packed other pairs of jean shorts and ONLY wore these ones!

Hi! I know this post is a little old, but I was wondering if you could tell me what beach you’re at in the last picture (in the striped suit). We’ll be on STJ in a couple weeks, and I’m always looking for hidden gems 🙂
Love your style, by the way!
Hi there! That photo was actually taken at our private villa we rented. Sorry to disappoint! Hope you have the best time – it’s so incredible! ☺️
