THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO ACHIEVING CELEBRITY HAIR
Celebrity hair. Sought after by “regular girls” everywhere and as far as something we can all agree on- celebrities just have down right amazing hair… But they get a little help. Some of the ladies with the best tresses in Los Angeles, New York, and Dubai have one thing in common- Their locks are under the tender, loving care of Jen Atkin, celebrity hair stylist and founder of new hair care line, Ouai (pronounced Way). If you haven’t heard of her already (I don’t know how that’s possible) she is the face behind every single Kardashian and Jenner’s lusted-after-hair as well as other celebs like Chrissy Teigen, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Minka Kelly, and pretty much every other celebrity you can think of who has amazing hair! Jen has a way with hair that makes it appear effortless and cool, without it looking too forced- so basically the ultimate #hairgoals (think Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian’s undone waves)!
Luckily I saw the other day that Jen was taking over Sephora’s Snapchat and then Glamour Magazine’s Snapchat a couple days later (in celebration of her line launching at Sephora), and I was able to follow along to gather some of her hair tips and must have products that she uses on her clients everyday. I’ve also watched videos and read interviews of hers to deliver you guys the ultimate guide for having effortless, cool-girl hair! I’m just slightly obsessed with her, you guys. What’s important to realize is that it’s NOT unattainable! With the correct products for your hair type and the right tools, you can achieve the goals you have for your hair. That doesn’t mean that you have to splurge and buy a $300 hair dryer or $100 hair serum. Know what to splurge on, and what to buy dupes of. For me, that means that I never spend much on shampoo and conditioner, because I would rather spend more money on hair serums and other hair products that are going to be on my hair all day– not rinsed out after 5 minutes. I spend more money on curling irons and hair straighteners, yet am still rocking a Conair hair dryer (the GHD and T3 are on my wish list)! It’s all about balance, using what works for you, your hair, and your personal budget! But- don’t be scared to practice on your hair! Continue reading for hair tips and recommendations on products and tools. I hope you guys learn a new thing or two!

HAIR TIPS:
- Product is key. Luckily, there’s now a product for almost every single complaint you have about your hair
- High quality tools are key (seriously worth saving up for).
- Dry hair with a cotton t-shirt instead of a towel to reduce damage and frizz. (Especially girls with curly hair!!! Although my hair is wavy, I do this when I style my hair in its natural wave/curls).
- Hair Masks are necessary to repair damage. (I try to do one once a week. If you don’t want to buy one, you can make one by mixing ingredients such as avocado, olive oil and/or coconut oil, and eggs.
- If your hair is thin, get extensions! However, make sure to have your stylist cut them so that they blend with your hair and look natural. (Jen’s new hair extensions line is available here).
- Take supplements like biotin.
- Don’t worry about buying high quality shampoo. You only need something that will clean the scalp. It’s better use of your money to buy a high quality deep conditioner or hair mask, according to Jen.
- Stop getting your hair done / doing your hair every single day. It’s super damaging.
- Limit how much you wash your hair.

Aw thanks Raina!!! As do I! I think what would be really nice is having someone else do your hair for you every day (or at least every so often)!! xo
Love the shade of your hair! My hair is thin and I also use clip-ins to add volume to my hair. Which shade are you using? I will definitely try it. It is similar to my 20 inch champagne blonde from Zala (https://www.zalahair.com/).
Thank you, Margaret! I actually don’t have extensions and have never tried using extensions before.
