If you follow any fashion bloggers on Instagram and have ever scrolled through Instagram, you’re probably wondering, what the heck is LIKE.toKNOW.it?! Should I use it? How do I even use it? Today I’m sharing a little bit of background of what LiketoKNOW.it is and why I think it’s beneficial to use from a shopper’s perspective. Continue reading to see how to use LIKEtoKNOW.it!

WHAT IS LIKEtoKNOW.it?
LiketoKNOW.it is an iPhone app that makes Instagram posts from your favorite bloggers and influencers, shoppable. With LiketoKNOW.it, a blogger or influencer will link items in a photo (sometimes clothing, beauty products, home products, etc.) to make them shoppable for users.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF AN IMAGE IS ENABLED WITH LIKEtoKNOW.it?
There are a couple different ways you can tell that the outfit details are linked and an image is enabled with LIKEtoKNOW.it.
- You see the LIKEtoKNOW.it heart icon in the bottom right hand corner of the photo (the icon can be black or white). However, there’s also an option for bloggers to not put this in the right hand corner. For example, I choose not to have this overlayed on my LIKEtoKNOW.it images because accounts that may want to repost my photos may not do so with the LIKEtoKNOW.it icon overlayed on the image. This means an image is sometimes shoppable even without the icon in the bottom corner.
- You see a LIKEtoKNOW.it link in the caption. They often look like this: http://liketk.it/2t8ex (a recent example of one of my shoppable images on LIKEtoKNOW.it). They will always have the “liketk.it” in the address and are case sensitive links. What many people don’t know is that you can type these case sensitive links into your browser and shop the image WITHOUT being signed up for LIKEtoKNOW.it.
- You see the image on the LIKEtoKNOW.it Instagram account. Every photo posted by LIKEtoKNOW.it’s Instagram is enabled with LIKEtoKNOW.it. I like following this Instagram account because I can see when my blogger friends get their photos reposted + the account also gives me inspiration for my own outfits. Fingers crossed I get featured one day ;-).

HOW DO YOU USE LIKEtoKNOW.it?
This is perhaps the most confusing part of LIKEtoKNOW.it and what keeps people from using LIKEtoKNOW.it. While LIKEtoKNOW.it was initially created to make Instagram posts shoppable, RewardStyle (who owns LIKEtoKNOW.it) recently came out with the app. Below, I’ll list the possible ways to shop an Instagram post that has enabled LIKEtoKNOW.it.
- Sign up for LIKEtoKNOW.it. You can sign up here. (Takes two seconds and is free!)
- Next is your decision, do you like shopping mostly from the web, from your phone, or a combination of both?
- If your answer is your phone, a combination of both, or even if you like scoping out outfits on Instagram and your phone, I highly suggest downloading the LIKEtoKNOW.it app. While it comes across as confusing, using the app is the easiest way to shop LIKEtoKNOW.it.
- Download the LIKEtoKNOW.it app (At this time, only available for iPhone).
- Go directly to the LIKEtoKNOW.it app and search the Instagram username of the blogger’s outfit you’re trying to find (Make sure to have the latest version of the LIKEtoKNOW.it app downloaded). On their profile you will see every single image they’ve ever posted with LIKEtoKNOW.it.
OR - Any photo you’ve liked on Instagram that’s been enabled with LIKEtoKNOW.it will show up in the app under your likes.
OR - Sometimes there’s a delay on photos that you’ve liked showing up under your “likes” in the LIKEtoKNOW.it app. You can screenshot the image on Instagram if you want the outfit details immediately (Most of the time you don’t need to screenshot, simply refreshing your LIKEtoKNOW.it app will make your most recent liked photo show up immediately.
OR - Just want to browse blogger’s outfits until you find something you like? You can look through #LTK Categories such as “Sale Alert” (items on sale), Style Tips, Under $50, $Under $100, Fitness, Swim, Bump (Maternity Style), Men’s, and so many more. I like using this feature when I’m looking for style inspiration.
OR IF YOU PREFER SHOPPING ON THE WEB - Log into your LIKEtoKNOW.it account here to shop your likes.
- There’s also an option to receive emails or not receive emails of outfit details. You can update this in the settings on the web version of the LIKEtoKNOW.it website here.
WOAH. Seems overwhelming?! The good news is that you DON’T have to go through ten steps to shop an Instagram post. I gave you multiple options depending on how you like to shop. What you decide on depends on your shopping habits and what you like. I personally use LIKEtoKNOW.it and use almost all of these options at different times. Just so you know, all of my LIKEtoKNOW.it enabled images will also always be on my website under the “Shop” tab and then under “LIKEtoKNOW.it” or you can just click here to get to it. I also link them on my right sidebar in a small grid. You simply click on the photo to get the outfit details to pop up. Click on the item you’re interested in and then you’re all set. It will take you directly to the item on the website.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING LIKEtoKNOW.it?
If you’re a person who frequently likes to shop bloggers’ outfits, LIKEtoKNOW.it is a game changer. You’ll have everything you need in one place in order to shop faster and more conveniently. If you’re someone who’s busy, I also recommend using LIKEtoKNOW.it. I don’t think anyone likes to go through pages and pages and pages of items on online retailers’ websites. Using LIKEtoKNOW.it cuts down on that time because bloggers and influencers are linking the items for you (or sometimes a similar item) so that you can go back to living your life and not scrolling through hundreds of pages of clothes when you need something new.

Note: Bloggers and influencers who use LIKEtoKNOW.it make a (very) small commission when an item is purchased using a LIKEtoKNOW.it link. Think of it as when you’re shopping at Nordstrom, Victoria’s Secret, a department store, (or honestly any store) and they ask you if anyone helped you today. You’re giving them a small commission for helping you find an item. I purchase from blogger’s links all the time because I’m thankful for them saving me SO much time when online shopping!
