FALL AROUND CAMBRIDGE + A BLACK OUTFIT
A couple weeks ago before going to the Harvest Party at the Boston Public Market, my friend Marissa of One CrafDIY Girl and I met up to hang out and take a few photos before the event. One of my favorite things about Boston is how supportive entrepreneurs and creatives are of each other. I was at a restaurant event last year at Mei Mei, where even the head chef said the exact same thing about the other chefs of the city. Boston is so supportive and collaborative. Which apparently isn’t the norm in other cities such as New York City. Honestly, doesn’t it come as a bit of a surprise that Boston is seen as such a supportive city? Boston isn’t exactly known for having the warmest and friendliest people in the world. Even though the majority of Bostonians may not say “hi” to you on the street or appear friendly, I still think that most Bostonians (and New England-ers) would be the first to take the shirt off their back when someone is in need.
It was so much fun taking these photos because rowers were practicing for the Head of the Charles Regatta that was set to take place over the weekend. In between shots we watched athletes prepare and get feedback from their coaches. If you’re not familiar, the Head of the Charles is the world’s largest two-day rowing event. It welcomes the world’s best crew teams to the Charles River. Sadly, I didn’t get to make it and have never been, but it’s definitely on my list of events to go to next year.
The sweater in this outfit is something I’ve worn constantly since I purchased it this year. It’s the perfect cozy sweater to wear to work in a cold office, on the weekend running errands, or cozying up on the couch. I like wearing it in the mornings on the weekend sipping my coffee. The one I’m wearing is from last season, but this one they’re carrying this season is virtually identical in every way. I love that it’s long because it makes it extra cozy, but also because it covers my bum.
These booties are seriously everything I’ve been looking for in a fall boot. Comfortable, the perfect height, and a block heel. I love block heels because you get the height, but they’re still comfortable to walk in. They fit true to size and fit snug on the ankle which I really like because I feel like it makes my legs look better when I wear them with skirts and dresses. Also, if you’re not on the cropped denim jeans train yet, these look so good with cropped jeans!
