We’re back from Key West, and it was seriously the best getaway and exactly what I’ve been needing! If you know me in real life then you know I have a hard time relaxing. I’m someone who constantly needs to stay busy and needs to be doing something all the time. Also, I feel like I’m stressed 24/7 or just an easily stressed out person. Anyways, by the second to last day I finally felt like I could let go and fully relax. It was insanely hot in Key West… think the hottest place I’ve ever been in my life, hot. This made me realize that I had never been to Florida past the month of April. I don’t know how you Floridians do it! As a New England girl, I’m totally not used to the amount of humidity they’re dealing with down there, but the constant sunshine every single day is something I could definitely get used to. Also realized that Key West is actually even further South than the Bahamas, making it the most tropical spot in the continental United States.
This trip was just a spur of the moment getaway; nothing blog related, although of course, I had to snap a bunch of photos while on vacation. Some of you know that I’ve been thinking about exploring a new career, and now that school is out (I was a middle school teacher), I’m on a full out mission to find my next job/career. I’ll share more in another post about my reasons for this change of heart, but for now I’d rather not share too much about it and I’d rather wait until I find something new to share more with you guys! It’s nothing juicy or horrible, just purely a personal (and financial) choice. While I would love to blog full time, the honest answer is that this blog can’t pay my rent right now (Boston rent is absolutely nuts), but here’s to hoping that it will in the future.
I’ve had a full out OBSESSION with tie front tops lately (also known as knot front tops). I love that they’re easy, carefree, and on trend. This one that I’m wearing is under $35 and is so comfortable. The material is surprisingly thick and good quality (I’m not wearing a bra with it) and not see through. I’m wearing the size medium because I wanted it to come down a little bit lower and not be too cropped.
I wore this top a few different times on my trip (oops). I styled it with these shorts, another pair of shorts, and also with a maxi skirt. Each time, I opted for a bottom that was high waisted. Since this top is a bit revealing, I wanted to make sure to avoid showing too much skin. A high waisted bottom keeps this outfit from being too scandalous.
I hope you guys have great long weekend and have something fun planned for the 4th of July weekend! This is one of my absolute favorite weekends of the year. Still finalizing my plans over here 🙂 xo Stay safe, everyone!
