For as long as I can remember, the 4th of July has always been one of my absolute favorite holidays, and definitely a day that holds a special place in my heart. An entire weekend for having barbecues, s’mores, yummy drinks, the beach, and time spent with friends, family, and loved ones. What’s not to love?! But of course, the day holds so much more meaning than just bonfires and burgers. With all the madness in the world, I’ve been feeling extra appreciative, thankful, and glad to call the United States my home. The fact that we’re able to wake up in a safe place where we’re also able to chase our wildest dreams is something I never want to take for granted. It’s something that a large amount of people in the world do not have the luxury of. While it’s true that we are nowhere near perfect and always have room to grow, I hope you were able to take a few moments over the holiday to reflect on what it means to live in such a wonderful place. We are truly so much more blessed than we even realize!
I had such an amazing long weekend spent on the Cape with Geoff and one of our favorite couples. Their parents have a house in Dennis and it’s a three minute drive from the beach. They were nice enough to let us join them for the weekend. We spent the weekend hitting up the beach (I have insanely red, patchy sunburn spots all over my body as you can tell from the photos), grilling, having one too many drinks, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful weather. If you follow me on Snapchat (@mnmurphy1223) you know that Geoff found his old iPod (1st generation style lol) so we spent a good majority of the weekend laughing, rapping, singing, and reminiscing over our favorite 90’s jams. There were so many classics I just wish we had found it sooner haha.
I bought this dress a while back for my trip to St. John (read more about that trip here), but never got around to actually taking photos of it till I re-wore it this past holiday weekend. I love wearing red because I feel that it looks great with my coloring, but there’s just something about red that makes you feel confident and gives you that it-factor… am I right ladies? Below, I’ve linked some of my favorite red dresses as of lately. I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend!!
