My Scottsdale, Arizona Bachelorette Party

My bachelorette party officially kicked off on Thursday, 7/22. Most of those who attended my bachelorette party were coming from New England, so we took an early morning JetBlue flight from Boston Logan Airport to the airport in Phoenix, Arizona. The flight was very easy and was just under 5 hours. That might sound long, but it flew by and there was WiFi. The time difference coming from the East coast really works in your favor – even with a 5 hour flight, we were in Phoenix by 9:45am. 😴 πŸ™ŒπŸ»

We all opted to check bags and the luggage arrived quickly. Leaving the airport was also a breeze. In Boston, we’ve had terrible luck getting Ubers (20+ minute wait times) and they’ve been extremely expensive. Not the case in Phoenix and Scottsdale! Ubers and Lyfts were quick to arrive, cheap, and we had super friendly drivers. We also loved that you can go right outside the luggage carousel to grab your Uber – not a luxury we’ve been able to have in Boston anymore with the changes for taxi/Uber drop off and pick ups.

Brunch After Arriving

We arrived to Arizona much earlier than our Airbnb check in time of 4pm and knew we immediately needed food. Hash Kitchen is one of the top rated brunch spots in Scottsdale and has a couple locations. One location is in Phoenix right near the airport, so we opted to stop in directly from the airport on our way to Scottsdale. Highly, highly recommend.

For it being a Thursday morning, the restaurant was packed. We apologized to the hostess for having so many suitcases, and then realized that an entire area behind the hostess stand and near the bar was filled with 20+ suitcases. πŸ˜‚ They were extremely accommodating and friendly about holding everyone’s bags. In general, we noticed people in Scottsdale, Arizona were sooooo friendly.

We all started with drinks. I shared a mimosa flight with a friend and the other girls opted for Bloody Marys. I’m not a Bloody Mary person, but if you are, they have an amazing Bloody Mary bar! Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an amazing brunch menu. It was soooo hard to decide what to get. I ended up choosing the Banana Split Brioche French Toast. It had sweet mascarpone and tasted like a mix between a cannoli and creme brulee. Oh my gosh, it was incredible. One of the other girls got the S’Mores Pancakes – so good too! The other girls got egg dishes. Everyone agreed it was delish!

Wine Tasting

After eating brunch, we got in an Uber and went to Carlson Creek’s Tasting Room in downtown Scottsdale. The wine was delish and they had a couple couches that we lounged on as we sipped our wine. If you’re into Instagramable spots, Wine Girl Scottsdale looked really cute too!

Our Airbnb & Where to Stay in Scottsdale, Arizona

After our wine tasting, we went to our Airbnb to check in and get settled and then went to the grocery store around the corner to buy drinks and snacks. I researched the best locations to stay in Scottsdale, and Old Town was the top choice for bachelorette parties, by far. Old Town is where the majority of the restaurants and bars are located. We still took Ubers to dinner and to all activities, but they were quick Uber rides and cheap! Our Airbnb was walking distance from the grocery store, Bashas, which was really convenient! This grocery store also sold full liquor, beer & wine, for anyone who’s from a state with weird liquor laws (Massachusetts for instance).

Monsoons in Scottsdale, Arizona

So here’s where it gets “good.” πŸ˜‚ We had so many plans of lounging by the pool and getting our tans on while sipping drinks and making TikToks. Everyone we told we were going to Scottsdale to told us we were absolutely insane for going there in July. That it would be ungodly hot and we wouldn’t want to do anything. But you know what they say about Scottsdale – “it’s a dry heat.” Okay, if only.

It rained…. correction, monsooned…. I’m actually not even exaggerating… basically our entire time in Scottsdale. We definitely made the best of the situation but it was a little bit of a downer considering we had come so far. The worst of it was when our Airbnb actually started leaking water through the smoke alarm and therefore, setting the smoke alarm off. As you can tell, it was a trip we will truly never forget LOL.

Overall Thoughts on a Scottsdale, Arizona Bachelorette Party

Even though we didn’t have the best weather, I highly recommend Scottsdale, Arizona for a bachelorette party. It was such a fun city. People call it a mini-Vegas, although I haven’t been to Las Vegas so I can’t say for sure. I think what made it the most fun is that there were so many other bachelorette parties going on that you felt like you were “all in this together.” People were very friendly and we got so many numbers from girls in bachelorette parties who wanted to meet up later.

Also, the restaurants were very lively! Most of the restaurants we went to had DJs which is so different from going out to dinner in Boston. It made it a really fun experience, but if you’re traveling with your significant other or your parents, I recommend researching the restaurants first to find places that are a little bit more quiet.

Also, one of the reasons I picked Scottsdale is that the accommodations (such as Airbnbs and VRBOs) are pretty affordable compared to other destinations. I believe it’s because summer is technically the off-season in Scottsdale. So while you could have questionable weather, the accommodations are more affordable.
