When choosing my bridal getting ready outfit, I knew I wanted something elegant, timeless, and ✨ show stopping✨. I originally leaned towards this pajama set (currently on sale) and almost ordered it. However, when I thought about how it would translate to photos, I realized I wanted something that would make me stand out a little bit more since my bridesmaids were wearing these pajamas. I also decided that I wanted a robe in case it was chilly in our getting ready room and frankly, couldn’t find the perfect robe that could go over the pajama set that wouldn’t break the bank.
All photos are by our wonderful wedding photographer, Jaimee Morse.
I ended up choosing this set for my bridal getting ready outfit. The beauty of being the bride is that you can pick anything you want. Truly! Whatever makes you feel most beautiful. I couldn’t be happier with my decision of purchasing this bridal getting ready outfit for my big day. It’s just gorgeous – especially in person. It’s a little bit of a splurge, but when I looked at the cost of pajamas AND a robe, it ended up being more expensive than this set.
The slip is high quality material that can also be machine washed! Ain’t nobody have time for pj’s that have to be dry cleaned…. I’ve actually been wearing it to bed even after the wedding. I found it to be the perfect length. I’m 5’5″ and I found it to be not too short and not too long.
I wore these nipple covers underneath (have sworn by them for years and they can be worn at least 10-15+ times) so that I wouldn’t get marks from a strapless bra and/or rub off my spray tan. Even with a thin material such as this slip, you can’t see these nipple covers. I know it seems like an odd thing to wear, but they are amazing! I even wore them underneath my wedding dress since it was more comfortable. They stayed on perfectly through all the sweating.
And, maybe the true show stopper of the set – the robe! The robe has 3D florals on the sleeves that stand out without looking too overdone. I feel like even though there are beautiful details, it’s still minimalist. And, one thing I really love about the robe is that there’s a hook and eye in the middle of the robe. SO many robes fall off which can be annoying. The hook and eye keep it extremely secure. Plus, you still have the tie so you have the full robe experience. I chose size small which fit perfectly.
I hope this gives you some inspiration for what to wear while getting ready on your wedding day. You can check out my other wedding posts here!
