Fall Recipes I’m Excited to Make + New Home Items

Real talk – is the best thing about fall, making all of the fall recipes? I think so! The start of fall always makes me crave comforting meals such as soups, stews, and baked dishes. I find myself yearning for a bowl of tomato basil soup while draped in a blanket and watching a movie. I crave the coziness of fall! And for me, it always marks a season that is slower with the craziness of summer fading into the distance.

Also, there’s something about fall that makes me feel inspired and more creative. Perhaps it’s because it’s forever ingrained in my mind that this is back-to-school season and a time of new routines. It’s definitely the season where I find myself trying the most new recipes. I’m not ashamed to say I still absolutely love Pinterest – it makes it so easy for recipe hunting. Since I’m sure you guys are also craving new recipes, I wanted to round up some of the fall recipes I’m most excited to make this fall.

Fall Recipes I'm Excited to Make + New Home Items | the best fall recipes | comfort food meals for fall | new home items I've been using in my kitchen

As you all know, we recently got married and moved into a new apartment. It’s been so much fun playing with our new home and kitchen items in our new space. I actually have to physically make myself leave the kitchen to stop myself from making too many treats! But, it’s a great excuse to gift them to friends and fam instead. Here are some new kitchen items (most of them gifted to us via my bridal shower, the wedding, etc.) that I’ve been absolutely loving.

New Home Items I’ve Been Loving

Combination Air Fryer/InstaPot
My mom has this and she fully convinced me to add it to my bridal shower registry. I absolutely LOVE it. I’ve used it at least 15+ times since receiving it at my bridal shower. It does take up quite a bit of space, however, it’s so worth it rather than having a separate air fryer and InstaPot, which would take up even more space. Insider Tip: I keep it in a bottom kitchen cabinet which is easy to access since it’s bulky/heavy. You’ll use it more this way!

Williams Sonoma Goldtouch Pan With Cooling Rack
A friend told me I absolutely had to put this on my registry and I’m so glad I did. I absolutely LOVE it. This is a very heavy duty, high quality pan. Most of my other pans have warped which I find annoying, because then you tend to not get as even of a cook. No warping on this as of yet! 🙏🏻 Last weekend I made bacon on it and placed the bacon on the cooling rack (so the grease would drip into the pan) and have also been roasting veggies on it. I bake veggies at least 2-3x a week, so having this pan (it’s huge btw!) is a game changer. You could bake so many cookies on this one sheet. I’ll report back on how many fit once I do! 😂

Lodge Cast Iron Pan
I loveeeee this cast iron pan for steaks! It’s high quality, will last forever, and I LOVE that it comes with a cover. So many pans don’t and I always find myself scrounging for tin foil to cover a pan since I lack covers. I like searing steaks on the stove top in this and then finishing in the oven. Restaurant quality steak right there! I’m excited to try searing scallops in it next.

Over the Sink Mesh Colander
I recently posted this on my IG stories and you guys freaked out over it! Yes, it’s as amazing as it seems. It’s adjustable so it should fit any standard sink width wise. It’s so nice to rinse blueberries in it in the morning and then rinse veggies for dinner in it at night, all without it cluttering the bottom of my kitchen sink. We have it out over our kitchen sink because we use it so frequently, but you could obviously keep it tucked away between uses too!

All-Clad Stainless Steel Weekday Pan With Lid
This pan is a bit more of a splurge than the other items but ahhhhh it is so incredible. I love it so much. Everyone needs a high quality, stainless steel pan. From the minute you pick it up, you can tell this is legit. It’s pretty heavy for a pan, but it will last me forever! It’s so much more worth it to buy high quality pans rather than having for a few years and then having to replace. I cooked chicken in this pan just last night! It’s the perfect everyday pan. And again, a pan with a lid! Ain’t nobody have time for splatter.

Swoon Wine Decanter
Now that I have a wine decanter, I feel like a real adult. There’s just something about owning it that makes me feels like a glamorous adult – finishing the work day on Friday and then pouring a nice bottle of red into it for my husband and I. I still gush every time I say husband …. 😂 You guys, I’m a full blown ADULT. Okay, I need to come back down to reality now LOL. During my research for items for my bridal registry, I quickly found out that wine decanters can be REALLY pricy. I expected this one to be thin glass since it’s affordable. But let me correct myself, it’s absolutely amazing for the price! No one needs a $100+ wine decanter when you have this available! If I haven’t convinced you, read the 312+ reviews raving about it!

Fall Recipes I’m Excited to Make

Cinnamon Apple Galette via Broma Bakery
All of the tastiness of apple pie, but without the struggle of placing that top crust. Just me?! 😂

Easy Focaccia Bread via Salt & Baker
There’s something about fall and warm, freshly baked bread. When I lived in Boston, I was one minute away from Whole Foods which not only made grocery shopping super convenient, but I was also obsessed with their focaccia. I’m now about 10 minutes away, so I’ve been toying with the idea of making my own!

Fall just screams ooey, gooey cheese so I feel like this one needs no explanation.

20 Minute Florentine Butter Chicken with Burst Cherry Tomatoes via Half Baked Harvest
Half Baked Harvest can do no wrong – does anyone else own one of her cookbooks (here + here)?! I still have so many recipes to make from it. This recipe looks delicious for a fall dinner, especially if you’re on a burst cherry tomato kick like I have been.

When it comes to fall recipes, I’m a soup freak; Geoff not so much. Is it a guy thing? I’ll be honest, some soups are just not filling, and you have to eat 3 bowls to feel satisfied. I love that this soup has Italian sausage – it makes it more hearty and seems like it would be more filling than most!
