Have you ever seen an item of clothing and become infatuated with it at first sight? Welcome to me with this white wrap top. These days, I’m really trying to be smarter with my money. As I get older, I have certain goals I want to achieve – and a lot of that involves saving, saving, saving my money. I’m one who rarely buys an item for full price – so when I find an item I love AND it’s on sale, it’s hard to say no!!
I’ve been having a hard time finding “dressy tops.” Dressy tops for going out seem so easy to come by, but ones that can be worn to work and more classy events, always seem hard to come by. This white wrap top’s tie detail with the wrap feature sold me immediately. In my eyes, it made it a bit more unique than every other top I own.
The White Wrap Top You Need For Fall
If you guys saw one of my last style posts, then you know i’ve been trying to get double duty out of the items I buy. What I mean by “double duty,” is items I can wear for work AND I can wear on the weekend. Luckily, my work dress code is very laid back – but I still like to look put together and professional (most days lol). This top is actually quite a bit different in person than I expected from seeing it online. Online, I expected it to be a shiny, silky material. In person, it’s actually textured (hence the name of the top… my bad!) and is made of cotton. The style of the top makes it a bit dressy, but the material makes it a bit more casual. What does that mean? It’s perfectly comfortable while looking dressy and classy. 🙂 That’s a win-win in my book!
I’m a bit in between sizes for Madewell’s tops. For this top, a medium is a 6-8, while a small is a 2-4. I’m usually a size 4-6 (typically leaning on the 6 side, but not an 8). This top is a bit more loose than I like it for a dressy top, so I will probably exchange it for a smaller size, however, you can see that it doesn’t look too huge. It really just depends on what your preference is on fit. I will report back to you guys with what I decide!
On another note, if you have yet to own a pair of block heeled sandals, I highly recommend this pair! I actually found them on sale last year at the Steve Madden outlet at Assembly Row. They’re a staple in my closet and have been what I’ve worn to basically every wedding I’ve attended in the last year. I also own them in a shade that’s just a little bit lighter than these ones. I love a block heel because they’re so much more comfortable than a stiletto. These heeled sandals look great with jeans, dresses, skirts, seriously everything!
I hope you guys have a great week. Not too much going on here. Work has FINALLY slowed down a bit and I’m enjoying it not being quite as crazy.
