Glossybox

Around Christmastime, I had the chance to receive a Glossybox in the mail, and to review it for you guys. For those of you who may be familiar with Birchbox, Glossybox is very similar. You can pay about $20 a month (price depends on your commitment) to receive five luxury beauty products straight to your door once a month.

HOW IT WORKS:

As I stated above, Glossybox is very similar to a Birchbox-type beauty subscription box. To ensure that your Glossybox fits your needs, you fill out a beauty profile when you sign up. This is one of my favorite features. As a fair skinned blonde, there’s many colors and shades that aren’t exactly flattering on me. By filling out the beauty profile, you’re ensuring that the products you receive are products you will love and get excited about.

You then decide on whether you’d like to do a monthly plan ($21/box), 3-month plan ($19.50/box), 6-month plan ($18.50/box), or a 12-month plan ($17.50/box). Each month, five beauty products are included in your box. While the brands may not be well known, they are considered luxury, and up and coming.

I’ve never subscribed to any subscription boxes, so I will admit, I did find it quite fun to receive a “mystery” box in the mail. Who doesn’t love getting mail (when it’s not bills)?! 😉

MY FAVORITE PRODUCT:

My favorite product in the box was hands down, the Diamond Select Anti-Gravity Sparkle Eye Mask. I’ve had very dry undereyes lately, and have recently noticed fine lines under my eyes (eeeeek.. didn’t know I was old enough for these)!!!! These eye masks are gel, and aren’t uncomfortable like many paper masks can feel (often feeling scratchy).

The eye mask actually contains pure diamonds, and lifts, firms, and brightens the undereye area. It also hydrates and helps ease the look of fine lines and wrinkles. While they do not necessarily feel “wet” like many face masks do, they have lavender oil, chamomile, collagen, diamond powder, and flower extracts to reveal a softer, smoother, more hydrated undereye.

To use, wash your face thoroughly prior to using. Remove eye masks from the tray and apply under the eyes. Leave on for 15 minutes, and then gently peel off. Using light pressure, pat the remaining emulsion into the skin around the eyes. Use again in four weeks for best results.

VERDICT

If you’re partial to particular brands and only like to use well-known, luxury beauty brands, then Glossybox may not be for you. However, if you’re like me and love a truly good product, no matter the brand, it’s a fun surprise to receive every month and a great way to learn about high-end, emerging brands as well as up and coming products. I love the idea of sending to a beauty obsessed friend as a birthday gift!

Note: Brunch on Sunday received a Glossybox at no cost, for reviewing purposes. However, all opinions are my own.
