THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO FALL’S MUST HAVE SWEATERS
I’ve always been a firm believer in investing in wardrobe pieces that make the most sense for the area you live in. For life here in Boston, fall sweaters are certainly worth investing in. As much as I wish I could justify owning a million bathing suits, the fact of the matter is that Boston just isn’t that warm for three quarters of the year.
Because of the weather in New England, I’ve shared with you guys before that to me, it makes more sense to spend my money on items that will last me for a larger portion of the year (fall and winter pieces).
This past weekend I took out all of my fall sweaters from under the bed storage, and put away most of my summer items. To me, there’s just something about throwing on an oversized sweater, and curling up on the couch in front of the fireplace with a cup of coffee or hot cocoa. Maybe it’s because I’m always cold, or the fact that I’ve lived in New England my entire life, but I’ve always been a sweater girl. In my eyes, you can never have enough! This season, there are so many fun styles of sweaters! These aren’t your grandma’s sweaters anymore, people! 1. LACE UP SWEATERS
Although trendy, lace up sweaters are a great way to switch it up from your everyday sweater.
2. COWL NECK / TURTLENECK SWEATERS
A classic sweater that you need in your closet!
3. CARDIGANS
Maybe my favorite sweater of all of these, and I especially like long cardigans because they’re like a socially acceptable bathrobe. I love how these make a simple outfit look more put together, and also how they look with dresses for when cropped sweaters are an awkward length!
4. SIMPLE / EVERYDAY SWEATERS
Perfect for work or a casual, laid back outfit!
5. OFF THE SHOULDER / COLD SHOULDER SWEATERS
Everyone’s favorite summer trend is back and better than ever for fall! I love off the shoulder and cold shoulder tops because you can show a little bit of shoulder and collar bone while still leaving something to the imagination and staying warm!
6. SWEATER DRESSES
These are all beautiful! Nothing makes me happier than a comfy but beautiful sweater!
I seriously want them all!
