IN THE NUDE: A NUDE MONOCHROMATIC OUTFIT IDEA
I love a good nude….. Okay, not those kind of nudes!! 😉 I’m so excited to show you guys this post today, because this may be one of my favorite outfits I’ve worn to date! I recently wore this look this past week for date night at The Abbey. It’s a great spot for a casual dinner and has great food! I was so happy because it was warm enough to eat outside and it was just amazing to soak up the sun while sipping some cabernet.
The monochrome trend has been popping up all year and I’m in love! If you’re not familiar with the trend, it basically means that you’re pairing items together that are the same shade or very similar in shade. I haven’t worn this skirt in such a long time and it’s even been on my Poshmark page for sale for awhile, but luckily for me, no one scooped it up and I’ve fallen back in love with it! I absolutely love maxi skirts for times when it’s a little too chilly to have bare legs, but you still want to be a bit dressy and wear something other than jeans. I’ve also found this outfit to be the perfect solution for looking cute in New England’s Spring weather, because it tends to still be very chilly in the morning and at night this time of year. I try to opt for ones that are polyester (or a similar material) or have pleats compared to cotton, because cotton maxi skirts tend to look more beach-y and far more casual. Unless you’re petite, in my opinion, maxi skirts look so much better with flats or sandals compared to heels. Once heels are added to the mix with a maxi, the length then looks very awkward and all wrong. If you’re dead set on wearing heels, choose a skirt that is more of a midi length (example here). These skirts hit at the calf and look amazing with heeled sandals!
This lightweight sweater from Zara was last seen here, and is so comfortable and soft. I’ve found it to be the perfect sweater for Spring, and I’ll be wearing it as many times as I can before it gets extremely hot in the city. I tucked my sweater in slightly in the front to create more of a silhouette, but let it hang in the back so it still looked a little bit casual. I hope you guys have a great weekend! I’m heading home to the coast of Maine for the weekend and am excited to relax and breathe in some of that fresh Maine air 🙂 (it seriously doesn’t get any better than Maine’s fresh air lol).
