As promised, I have the outfit that I wore to the Decordova Sculpture Park & Museum Gala that I talked about a couple weeks ago. I say gala, but it was in fact a little bit less formal, and attire ranged everywhere from pant suits, to sun dresses, to near floor-length dresses. The majority dressed similar to me, a little bit on the casual side for a gala. I always get frustrated when finding dresses for events because I leave it for the last minute and then find myself running around the mall the day before an event (while hangry) and hating my life (I much prefer online shopping… anyone else)?
Anyways, I told myself that J. Crew would be the last store I would go into or else I was going to force myself to wear something I already have. Sure enough, J. Crew pulled through (as it so often does). I absolutely love the bright, emerald color of this dress, and I can’t get enough of the fun ruffles that have been popping up everywhere lately! The silky material of this dress makes it feel light and comfortable. One of my favorite things about this dress is how versatile it is. It can easily be dressed up with heels for weddings (I’m planning on re-wearing to weddings this summer!) or can be paired with sandals and a jean jacket for a casual weekend or a dress-down Friday vibe. It’s currently on sale with an additional 30% off on top of that which brings the price to just under $84. This is a pretty good deal for a J. Crew dress that will last and can be worn over and over again many different ways! I will say that this dress runs a little bit large, but I often feel that J. Crew runs big in most items. Definitely go 1 size down when you purchase!
Also, if you’re in need of a pair of lace-up sandals (my obsession lately) these are under $40 and are the most comfortable pair of heels I own!
